For Kholid Abrori Ahda, jeans are a loyal protector—resilient, willing to “sacrifice,” and capable of being worn with pride even after heavy fading. This reflects the legend of the highly devoted wingman in World War II aviation. Rooted in this philosophy, Wingman Denim was founded in 2012: a travel companion for denim enthusiasts, a wingman that is always there.
From the beginning, we chose a different path: manufacturing our own jeans in Bandung, the fashion capital of Indonesia. Starting from a simple workshop with just a few machines, we committed to designing a more comfortable and balanced fit, executing every detail wholeheartedly. Today, we have built a comprehensive and advanced production line to bring our dream products to life.
From digital pattern making and inspecting every meter of fabric we use, to sewing with specialized denim machines—every process is carried out under the roof of our own factory.
For over a decade, we have meticulously selected materials—touched directly and evaluated with a trained eye—armed with experience ranging from curating denim to manufacturing it ourselves. Fabric weight, yarn character, weave density, and fading potential are all calculated against standards we continually refine. Through partnerships with the finest mills, the three pillars of Wingman denim are born: Japanese Fabric, Exclusive Fabric, and Indonesian Fabric.
Recognized as the best in the world, woven using slow and increasingly rare vintage Toyoda looms to produce more textured selvedge fabric with an authentic character. Since 2019, we have built close partnerships with renowned mills from Okayama to Fukuyama—forming the largest Japanese Fabric collection among Indonesian denim brands.
